We made the Distrowatch waiting list. Guess we've been around long enough to be noticed. :)

i recommended refracta. the only distro i use every day is made from it, and if i ever get on distrowatch i think it will be a few years off.

here is a list of features: (placed in code tags to shrink the vertical space taken by the post)
Code: Select all
* fig os is built with a "hands-free" script run from fig os (or native puppy, or native refracta)
* it has two boot modes: puppy and refracta
* it removes/adds files from/to refractas sfs
* fig is included in puppy mode (as in refracta)

* icewm default wm in refracta mode
* new boot screen
* cli help overloading ("help" in command line is now editable-- old help command help info is still accessible)
* puppy mode ping scripts disabled

* yadless is a graphical less command based on a yad one-liner
* rox is copied from puppy to refracta
* pserver runs a simple python server from the current folder
* puppy mode yad is upgraded to refractas version

* icewm menus are updated to reflect additions made prior to boot
* default wallpaper removed in puppy mode
* modprobe e1000 added to puppy mode for qemu compatibility
* runs isohybrid on output iso so you only need dd to write iso to usb

* includes own file-editing routine (sed wasnt working reliably when run from puppy)
* pcmanfm replaces rox for puppy desktop, added to create refracta mode desktop with icewm
* added mtpaint, syslinux-utils, md5deep to refracta mode
* gtkdialog added to refracta mode

* petget packages can now load in refracta mode
* gdk-pixbuf updated for both modes from security.debian.org
* replaces 575 binaries in librepup with ones from refracta, incl. busybox and bash

now, what does that have to do with refracta? thats easy: refracta is what makes it possible, as much as devuan (now) makes refracta possible. and refracta is (imo) the greatest distro ever made, and ive tried 50-100 myself.

* fast
* efficient
* reliable
* fun
refracta is a product of both evolution AND "intelligent design!" :)

it has taken over native devuan and gnuinos at home and on the go-- i prefer to run refracta. (devuan and gnuinos are still great distros, naturally.)

Refracta's status is no longer "pending", it's been added to DistroWatch:

I see you haven't put the updated screenshots page on the site. If you don't want purky just don't upload the .css file. Now is the time to have the site in the best condition possible.

Refracta's installer currently works better than the the Devuan one, one could say that Refracta is actually more Devuan than Devuan.

That must have made you feel chuffed. :)

Congratulations to all who work on and help with refracta - about time you got some wider recognition.
