iMac G5 single user mode, safe mode

Postby nadir » Sat Oct 22, 2016 7:05 pm

Trying this:
"First you need to enter Single User Mode. Reboot the Mac and hold down Command+S at boot to enter into the command line."
but i got no "command" key on a PC keyboard.
Web tells me to use Alt (or ctrl), but it doesn't work.

I tried to boot from a Ubuntu CD, "command + C" didn't work either.
Now the CD is stuck. Duh.

I am not sure if upper or lower s (or c) matters.

i need to change locales and passwords. What i posted above seems to be the way to go, but i don't care how to reach that goal.
