Ram free space question?

Postby AlexRey » Tue Feb 21, 2017 1:35 pm

Say you have a Linux Mint Snapshot made with refracta tools and you load it to 16gb of ram how much free space is there for downloading?

Is the ram divided into 2 separate parts with tmpfs?

Thanks

I think it would be total ram minus the size of the snapshot. As I understand it, the toram option just copies the media to ram so that any time you start a program or open a file, the system reads it from ram instead of from the media.

Thanks , ive been reading about all these switches for tmpfs and found it very confusing. :)

I'll just leave it alone.
