Make sure the kernel_image and/or initrd_image

Postby Jeffersonrc » Wed Feb 22, 2017 4:19 pm

When sneak the refracta points this error!
Warning: Kernel image is missing.
Warning: initrd image is missing.

Make sure the kernel_image and/or initrd_image
set in the config file are correct, and check
that the boot menu is also correct.

I already pointed out the right refractasnapshot.conf
kernel_image="/boot/vmlinuz"
initrd_image="/boot/initrd.img"

Location of my kernel:

I think the easier way to deal with this is to create the /vmlinuz and /initrd.img symlinks if they are missing. Then set the config file back to using those symlinks. That way, you don't have to change it in the boot menu.

As root (use the actual file name on the ones that have <version> in the name)
Code: Select all
cd /
ln -s /boot/initrd.img-<version> initrd.img
ln -s boot/vmlinuz-<version> vmlinuz

Since you're using 4.x kernel, if you make a snapshot that fails in the middle of booting, see this discussion:

I solved the problem and generated the iso.
But I have this problem that you mentioned ...
When I click on live to start it says this:
/ Live / vmlinuz ... No surch file or directory

I'm confused. How did you solve the problem? What are you clicking on to get that error message?

Check that the paths in /boot, the symlinks and the paths in the boot menu are all correct.

This is wrong.
/ Live /

This is right.
Code: Select all
/live/
